2004 Audi TT Convertible mechanism doesn't retract

Default 2004 Audi TT Convertible mechanism doesn't retract
I have a 2004 TT Quattro convertible. The top won't retract however it will raise back up. The dealer said water probably got into the electronics and corroded something. Has anyone encountered this and what is the normal cost to fix it
Appreciate any feedback

1. You have a Mk 1 TT and this is the Mk 2 forum
2. Never heard of this problem on the Audiworld or several other Mk 1 forums
