Bonnet stuck down. Cable is still connected to the release lever but doesn't release the bonnet. Cable is loose near the lever but won't pull through And it feels like it is still attached. Will not release the bonnet though Any help would be much appreciated.

Just a message to let those who may have this trouble in the future. I took this in to my Audi dealership in New Zealand as it was still covered under the parts and labor warranty which I took out. They finally booked 11.5 hours labor to the job. They took off the whole front nose panel, alloy support mounting etc. Pretty much everything in front of the radiator, to get at the cable mount. The cable wasn't broken, it was the small plastic housing which the outer cable clips into which had split open. The total cost would have been around NZ $1300 for parts and Labor!! Thank you Warranty.
