Because wouldn't that take off a considerable amount off the final price when tax isn't applied? I live in Arizona... I plan to buy a 2.0T in CA. And do the discounts still apply here? like $500 over invoice, 5% off MSRP, etc. Sorry, I'm new to car buying negotiations.

Yes, no difference in price of car, just pay the sales tax in your own state --- at least that's the way I've always done it.

So it would save some money, but later on when it's brought in-state it would go back up?

so no point in purchasing out of state is the point unless there's a REALLY good dealer or something, right? i thought i found out some loophole~~ haha.

im just really unsure how to go about purchasing a automobile, but it seems like if i go through the previous posts ill find out a lot. like residuals and those monthly things... thanks you guys!
