Poor baby! 
I had the same fun when I had my Miata way back. Anything over 50 (45 if the sun was out and I wasn't on the highway) and the top was down! Of course the Miata didn't have seat heaters. The real driver was the simple vinyl top material that was more susceptible to the cold.
We are just getting some cool weather here in MA now. It has been a REALLY warm fall. I haven't even graduated from the windbreaker yet and that is 2 weeks later than usual. We don't usually have daytime highs in the 50s and 60s this late in the year (I am in the northeast corner of MA).
