used 3.2 or new 2.0TQ..help me decide which one to go with
I have seen two ibis white TT`s both coupes. One is a used 3.2 fully loaded with sat nav, bi color leather etc with 8K miles. The other a new 2.0T Q premium plus. The 3.2 is $39K the 2.0TQ is $42.5K. Right now the lease rates suck and given i will drive less than 10K miles per year i am thinking about buying. I have heard so many good things about the 2.0T quattro but can`t help thinking a fully loaded 3.2 V6 would be a better option and maybe the better resale value after 3 years......any advice??

Two very different cars....
When I bought mine Quattro was not an option on the 2.oT making the choice easy. If it was available I am not sure what direction I would have went. If I had to guess, I would say MAYBE a 3.2 only becuase I had just owned 3 2.oT A4's and prior to that 2 1.8T A4's....so I was ready for the 3.2 and i ADORE the sound it makes.
take a look at them both closely.

um...no its not "double torque". Its a nearly identical, underrated 200HP 2 ltr, 4 cyl, FSI engine.
TT Engine is a 200HP engine with 207TQ...the 2.0T in the A4 at least the B8 version is 211HP...this is likely the same performance in the TT also....the B7 A4 2.0T was the 200/207 varient.
On PAPER the B7 A4, and TT 2.oT have the same power out put...however I am not nieve to the fact that likely the power output is a bit greater in the more recent 2.oTs...hence the 211hp raiting in the A4. So at BEST the 4 cyl in the TT is 10HP or so up on the outgoing A4...and thats totally speculated.
But double the torque? uh, no....what you likely felt was the butt dyno diffrence due to the lighter weight of the TT.

I went through this a few months ago and ended up getting the 09 2.0 Q...

2009 2.0 Quattro advantages....
lighter, less nose heavy (makes the car feel more nimble/tossable)
much better mpg (gas prices will go back up and its good to be green)
updated 2.0 engine (now has timing chain, possibly lighter)
upgraded quattro (quicker, shares new pressure reservoir with TTS)
new shifter design (really helps the interior look IMO)
upgraded display lighting (much more modern looking)
rubber pad between seats (no more useless phone cradle)
smoother shifting (DSG w/2.0 is less jerky than 3.2, I didn't mind this very much in my 3.2 test drives, but some reviews said it was annoying in stop and go traffic)
newer mobile handsets are supported (3G iPhone works perfectly, on 2008s it is not supported so you get buzzing and low volume on speakers making it useless at high speeds)
The 3.2 did feel a bit quicker when I tested the cars back-to-back but for me the 2.0 is fast enough and all the above advantages tipped the balance. The louder 3.2 exhaust note was nice but I think I would have gotten tired of it (its also somewhat fabricated thanks to a sound tube near the dash.) I actually find the 2.0 exhaust note just right.
I don't think the 3.2s will hold their value as well. Many new ones were sold in the last few months at 7-8K below MSRP and most reviews said go with the 2.0 engine. I have also noticed more engine problem posts by 3.2 owners than 2.0 owners - it is a much older engine that will soon be retired so this is not surprising.
The NAV and Bose might be nice to have but I prefer to have less distractions in a sports car and I keep hearing that the Bose has bad sound quality for the money and that its better to upgrade the base system yourself.
In order to get a lower rate from Audi I went with a 48 month loan and a bit more down. You will likely end up with a pretty high finance rate on the used 3.2 which will erase much of the price difference. Less remaining warranty and uncertainty about how the car was treated could actually make the ultimate cost of ownership much higher.
The only reason I might have gone with the 3.2 was to be able to get a manual. The DSG made me nervous since I had been driving manuals for 20 years. I have been very happy with the DSG and probably will never go back to a manual (still surprised by this honestly).
If people want more driving feel/involvement, then they should get a horse People resist technological advances but in the end things evolve. I guess I basically agree with Audi's tagline: "Vorsprung durch Technik".
In summary, I am VERY happy with my decision.

I went with the 2.0Tq over an '08 3.2q as well....
... there were great deals on '08's. Thousands off when I was looking in September. Did the math and a 2.0Tq spec'd exactly how I wanted would cost about as much as a discounted 3.2 on the lot. So the 3.2 looked like a really good deal.
Test drove a 3.2 and 2.0Tq. Overall power felt similar with the edge on the 3.2, but delivery was different. 2.0T was peakier, 3.2 smoother.
3.2 had terrible gas mileage on my test drive, something like 10 MPG after aggressive driving. 2.0T returned around 18 MPG with similar driving. Huge difference.
In the end I went with the 2.0T because of the following:
- Lighter, better balanced
- I could order exactly what I wanted.
- Meteor Grey wasn't available for '08's
- Faster responding quattro
- Better gas mileage
- More modern engine
- Broader torque curve
- ECU tunable to be much quicker than 3.2
- Interior cosmetic improvements (color DID, nicer shifter)
What I sacrificed was less power.
I strongly suggest you order a car if you decide on an '09. Also make sure to get as close to invoice as you can.
