Whats the solution for Bluetooth streaming?
I have a 2009 TTS with RNS-E, Sat and the changer in the glove box. I want to keep the head unit and the sat radio, I saw someone or somewhere that there is a box that the CD Changer wire just simply plugs into for streaming.
Does anyone know what that is? I plan to run a USB to the bottom of the ashtray and grab one of those iphone holder inserts and then that takes care of charging and the bluetooth device would take care of the rest.
I cannot find that box to save my life. Anyone know what I am talking about or have a better solution?
Thanks so much,

If you are looking to replace the glove box CD player with just an interface, look at this post.

Down about post #9 or so. This is what I have done. Replaced the OEM CD player with the blank box and a Tune to Air module from Amazon. This allows for the Bluetooth streaming from a phone or iPod. I am not sure how it works for streaming services, but it works great for music playlists which is all I use it for. Emulates a CD, so no track info shows on the head unit, but the volume and track selection on the steering wheel works. And if you switch between radio and this source it works just like the original so pauses and resumes like it should.
Keeps all the original wiring the way it is, nothing is cut or modified. Don't even have to touch the head unit. Everything is done in the glove box. Took about 20 minutes start to finish.

Perfect. That is the way I think I am heading.
Much like your first experience, it looks like some of these things are just over engineered, overly complex solutions to a simple problem.
Thanks so much

The only special tool you will need are the radio removal keys to get the CD deck out of the glove box. Otherwise pretty easy.
Good luck!
