I believe the low torque stage 1 is intended for the manual transmission, DQ250 can withstand 550 with no problem...

A denied warranty claim on a blown motor would not be a good day for someone, regardless of if the tune itself was at fault, or a defect in the motor/bad petrol/etc.

Default That makes me wonder why APR does not offer the high torque as APR+

I can only assume that there is some reliability reason why APR developed the low torque primarily for their APR+ which comes with a warranty while the TT is still under factory warranty. If you are not getting the APR+ warranty, the cost to purchase low torque or high torque Stage 1 is identical. I'd sure like to know why they mated only low torque to APR+.

I think the answer to your question in the final sentence is pretty obvious. It's a liability to APR, so they are in essence de-tuning the engine to reduce their risk.
Torque is what blows engines and transmissions ... so they will lower the torque and err on the side of safety.
