I absolutely hate the engine stop-start on my 2019 Audi TT S-line Roadster. We were able to disable that function on my wife's 2017 SQ5 by going into the MMI and turning the feature off. I went into the MMI with the 2019 TT, and stop-start was not there. Has anyone found out a way to disable this annoying function? There is a button to disable the function, but the current action should be toggled. The current action has stop-start active (light off) at start up, and disabled when button is depressed (light on). Is there a way to toggle this? Have stop-start disabled (light off) at start up, and enabled when button depressed (light on).

I hate the auto start-stop on my wife's Benz GLA as well. In fact when I drive her assignment is to immediately turn it off when we set out.

It works pretty much as you describe the Audi setup and there is similarly no MMI setting. In Benz world there's an illuminated green LED when the system is active (I guess so you can feel you're being 'green') and light off when system is disabled.

These systems are there simply to help vehicle manufacturers meet (or at least claim to meet) fleet fuel efficiency requirements and as such can't be disabled other than by the manual switch.

I suppose you could pull apart the dash and reverse the switch/light wiring but a lot of work just for ... Perhaps there's an aftermarket coding solution to the switch/light sequence.
