Default Just finished test drive

We used to have a 2011 Volcano Red TT roadster up until about 6 months ago when we traded it in for a Jeep Grand Cherokee (needed the utility of an SUV).

Saw that our dealer had 2 on the floor so went by to look since we were in the area and they were happy to let us test drive the coupe (vert was in the showroom). Marked improvement over the Mk2 in every way. Was worried that some of the aluminum/weight loss would take away that solid door feeling from the MK2, but the solid feel is still there - nice reassuring german THUNK.

Drivewise it feels a lot like the new A3 (when the A3 is equipped in sport config), which is suffice to say a good improvement over the last gen. More solid, and less of the typical short wheelbase/hop feel. Steering is pretty good in both comfort and dynamic, its feel great when you switch to dynamic and it firms up. Love the soundaktor engine noise generator in dynamic mode - though to be honest the car is so well insulated it was still a bit hard to hear. We didn't detect any road or wind noise, in fact jumping in our A6 to drive back home almost felt slightly noisier strangely enough. Coupe had the 19" wheel option as well, wore Hankook Noble UHP rubber - don't know why Audi can't just provide michelin Pilot Super sports stock like BMW does!

Seats were great, love the diamond stitched leather, nice to see that option on a non S model from Audi. Didn't really get to hear the B&O all that much since it was 100 out, the AC never really quit and to be honest I was more in it for the drive.

All in all we were very impressed and might take the plunge back in. However one feature is SORELY missing - there are no memory seats! Kinda baffles us at this price range, was the only missing feature in the MK2 that we hated since my wife is 5 ft and I am over 6 ft. Also, coupe hatch is an absolute beast to close from full open even for an average male.

Car was Scuba Blue, looks much better in person than in pics.
