Default TT Reliability

Both TT and TTRS are on the least likely to be recalled list https://www.autoblog.com/article/25-...uture-recalls/

The mini convertible number one?

It's hard to believe those stats.

I agree that some are hard to believe but it says that they are projections based on government recall history on that model so mathematical anomalies like a short model history could play a significant role. Given the long model history of the TT and TTRS probably suggests their reliability is solid which in this forum is the salient info. As a skeptic of electric cars at this level of technology, their lack of reliability overall, Tesla, Lucid and Porsche for example, is probably also notable.

I can comment on TTRS reliability. It is VERY reliable. The reason is, it seems there are HUGE design factors built into the engine and transmission.
These cars are generally good up to 700 crank hp ... both engine lower end and transmission/clutch ... no guarantees, but many are tuned between 600 and 700 hp,
and running without issue.

The stock care is 405 hp ... so that is over 50% design factor.
Torque follows same (and is actually more important in respects to potential to break things).

In terms of power/electricals and suspension ... all good.

Audi did a fantastic job with the TTRS.

Default Recalls do not equal reliability

Recalls are only caused by an engineering design flaw that reduces vehicle safety. A manufacturer may decide on their own to issue a TSB for issues causing premature wear or failure to avoid class action suits. Audi has lost several of those that involved TTs over the years.
