Cause for DTC 16486 and 17862

Cause for DTC 16486 and 17862
Mechanic says leaks found in hoses to bypass valve can cause both of these codes. He suggests just resetting and driving. I am skeptical. Can anyone verfify?
I believe the 16846 is a MAF issue and 17862 EGT sensor.
