considering vag-com for 03 A6- but want "future flexibility" for a
05 or 06 (if fortune smiles!) I would say we are fairly committed to Audi. I've looked over the Ross Tech site a little and read some useful posts here (thanks bearthebruce for your thorough answer to tkinney)
I doubt I'll be modding- but am ready for the next level of work (considering(!!) timing belt myself...i may chicken out...have done wheat lights in my old 96 A6, cv joints, etc.)anyway- I'm not ready for an 800 dollar investment- just want what might be usable for this (03) AND my next Audi...whenever. Any suggestions for "sets" of hardware and software?? It almost looks like there were some major changes between the years I'm considering...ANY thoughts would be appreciated.

[edit] looks like VAG-COM License with HEX-USB+CAN Interface is right $349...agreed?
