Default Having trouble eliminating the brake pad warning icon from the trip computer.

2001.5 S4

I went <a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/audiB5.html">here</a>, copied down my existing code, which is 02264, and tried to change the "02" to "06". However, when I click on "Do it!", the icon is still there, and when I check the code again, it reverted to the original "02" code. I then tried changing to "04" just for kicks, but got the same thing.

Any ideas? I'm using release number 208.1. Thanks!

Default Less Vaggy way to do it is to insert a wire between the terminals on the connector

All it's looking for is a closed connection. I used a forked terminal and it fit great inside the plug for the pad sensors.

Default You probably have a bad connection under the wheelarch ...

where the sensor wire meets the pad wear wire - I had this on mine, cleaned them up and OK now. Else your pads are low !!!!

Yeah - I know about that, but I'd rather do the VAG method.

Default I'm running a BBK, so the sensor is always disconnected.

The icon is always lit, and it doesn't serve any purpose now.

Default Try 00264

Also, why are you using such an old version of VAG-COM? Update!<ul><li><a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/">http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/</a</li></ul>

Default On my A4 I couldn't get VAG to do it when the warning was already on.

I finally had success permanantly turning it off with VAG by doing it when I had temporarily reconnected the sensors wires. After that it was off for good.

Basically it seemes that VAG would only turn it off if it wasn't already giving a warning.
