Default Instrument panel and radio coding of A4 1.8TQ Avant 2001 (USA export)?

I've tried to change mileage to kilometers several times, but the date and time display will be messed up. No matter if I use "Canada 12 hour", "Germany 24 hour" or "Rest of World 24 hour clock" settings.

Radio seems to be immune to changes in country code too.

I must have missed something, but can't find out what. Would appreciate if someone could advice.

The VAG-COM version is 311.2-N, Audi Chassis type B5, Instrument panel default coding is 02244 and radio default coding is 00200.

What do you understand by "messed up"? What exact result do you expect?

Default You cannot code a radio to work in the other region

A North American head unit will no work right in Europe and vice versa due to the fact that the tuner is hardware based and different in both regions (AM/FM frequencies, RDS differences, no TP/TMC in the US). The RNS-E Navigation Plus is the only head unit that can be "modified" to work in the other region.

For a B5 your best bet might be the big auction house to get a used Concert I head unit (or Symphony I if you have the Sound Package with Bose).

OK. Thanks for your reply.
I don't waste my time with the Symphony radio anymore.

Cheers

Never seen sth. like that before, looks like the instrument cluster software is faulty.

Default Mileage setting will recover it.

I understood that setting 02344 would yield kilometers with 12 hour clock setting, but somehow 24 hour setting stays. At least if I read the value from instrument cluster, it is 02344 as I coded with VAG-COM.

A4 B5/8D
Third digit:
0 - "Germany" 24 hour clock
1 - "Rest of World" 24 hour clock
2 - "USA" 12 hour clock
3 - "Canada" 12 hour clock

Original setting was 02244 which had 24 hour clock. Changes prevented by HW or SW?

I wonder if there is a solution to tackle this problem? I haven't found it yet.
