Misfiring codes, any way to know if it's plugs or coilpack? or something else?
000771 - Cylinder 3: Misfire Detected
P0303 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 10100001
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 3
Mileage: 18201 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2008.03.01
Time: 12:41:59
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 6417 /min
Load: 25.5 %
Speed: 124.0 km/h
Temperature: 87.0°C
Temperature: 19.0°C
Absolute Pres.: 990.0 mbar
Voltage: 14.224 V
Readiness: 0000 0000
owner says he only feels the "flatspot" at 6.5k rpm consistently, no problem throughout the rev range. Cleared the codes, have a quick run, flatspot is still there, but no new codes. What gives?

try a few things...
- switch coil packs.
- make sure you have factory recommended NGK spark plugs.
- switch ICM/POS to see if missfire follows. (switch the coils and ICM/POS at different times)
- do a seafoam treatment to clean injectors.
- check for Codes for Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor failures.
- Check Engine Speed sensor
i had the same problem and after checking all those the Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor failed.
good luck
