Are these two codes pointing at the same problem?
I have the two codes below and I ordered the 4-pin (green) sensor and installed it. Is that green one a g2/g62 in one? Will the 4-pin sensor satisfy both fault codes?
Here is a link to the 4-pin and 2-pin sensors, what is the 2-pin sensor for and do either codes indicate a need to swap out the 2-pin? http://www.germanautoparts.com/Audi/...ectrical/181/8
I ask b/c I was hoping my my intermittent misfires were coming from bad signals from a faulty sensor. I'm still misfiring after the new sensor.
I'm also having trouble remember if I cleared all DTC, or if I only cleared the engine codes yesterday. I did an auto-scan after a test drive when I was finished installing the sensor. The instrument code was there. Is there a way to see what codes I cleared and from which address? Or, if that 4-pin sensor IS the G2, I guess I didn't clear them all (is the 4-pin the G2?).
Engine:
19497 - Powertrain Databus: Implausible Engine Temp. Message from Inst. Panel
P3041 - 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
Instruments:
01039 - Coolant Temperature Sensor (G2)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
No, you can't see what codes you cleared from what address. I would clear codes at the cluster and engine again just to be sure it's done, then see what comes back.
As far as the misfires, check your fuel trims -- but understand they get reset every time you clear codes from the engine and you must drive some miles after clearing codes from the engine before the fuel trim values are meaningful.
