Trying to code a key... 46-Central Conv. reports "no response from controller"
is it just some years of cars where you can code a key with a VAG-COM or should it work on all, because when i try to access "46-Central Conv." through VAG-COM it says "no response from controller"
This happens on 2000 A8 and 2001 A8.

With a full and genuine Ross-Tech VCDS (VAG-COM) system, you should have full access to module 46. Care to share what you are using to try to do this?

i just purchased a new genuine HEX + CAN USB ($349) cable and donwloaded the latest software, plugged the cable in my car (tried both 2000 and 2001 A8's) and followed the instructions to access 46 (select, 46-Central Conv.) and here is where i get the error - No response from the controller.
I was able to read the DTC's do an SRI reset, adjust my xenons, played with adjusting the idle RPM, logged couple of things while running a car,... everything seems to be working, but for some reason i can't connect to 46.

seems like these forums here are a waste of time, since it's taking so long for anyone to even reply to anything, and in the mean while just by exploring and testing stuff with my new cable / software and my car i figure most of the stuff on my own.
just wanted to say i figured this one too!

one of my audis honk didn't work when i locked the car and activated the alarm. well that is working now too... i love the binary system conversions)
