1978 Audi Fox B1 wuth 43,6XX original miles
I am selling my 1978 Audi Fox automatic with 43,6XX original miles and a clean fresh title. She runs and drives but I think one of the oil rings is on its way out. I don't have the money to get her fixed right now and it looks like I will be moving into an apartment soon so I will be loosing my garage. She still runs and drives but there is a really funky smell and a little bit of smoke coming from the exhaust. She did just pass emissions two weeks ago and I have the slip in the car. The good thing about this is that she is ready for an awesome engine swap if you want to or get another 1.6L VW engine and slap it in and go. This car also has working A/C!
I just installed a Pertronix electronic ignition and matching coil to get rid of the old worn out points. I have a full set (front and rear) of factory original mudflaps on order and will be included with the car.
Anyways, this is a two owner car. The previous owners bought it new in either late '77 or early '78. The paint is original and still shines. She has a few bumps from the lady that used to drive her. It still has the owners manual and I bought a repair manual for it. The dash has absolutely no cracks at all. The trunk is so clean that it looks like the day it rolled off the showroom floor in 1978. There is no rust. The bumpers are aluminum and are in perfect condition. Every seal on the glass and sunroof are in perfect condition as is the glass itself. The sunroof operates flawlessly as well and doesn't leak at all.
The only real down sides is that the previous owners were smokers, the drivers seat is a bit worn out but only the foam, and the vent window winder is out on the drivers side. I have a contact that has a good working set of winders and can ship them out whenever. I have been waiting for a really nice day to air her out and put down some baking soda to eliminate the smell. Also the Grill got bumped in the center and broke the trim. There is a really nice NOS trim piece on eBay.de right now
The dents that were there were taken out by the dealership that serviced this car when the previous owner had the car. A good shop can match and blend the paint so the whole car won't need a paint job.
I have acquired a few gaskets for cleaning up the engine as the valve cover leaks and the others as preventative maintenance just because. The parts aren't expensive and are still available as the majority of this car are Volkswagen parts. I also have a filter and gasket kit for the transmission.
I live in Lakewood and I am pretty firm on this price but I am open to serious offers. I know how rare this car is and I know what she is worth so please be reasonable if you are interested.
$3900 or best reasonable offer.
I might be keeping the car if the engine cost isn't horrible but then again I don't know just yet.
I'm in the Denver/ Lakewood, Colorado area.
