19" winter tires or 18" and new rims?
I have a 2010 S5, live in Boston, will use as a daily driver with some trips up to Vermont/NH for skiing.
Debating between getting a set of 19" tires (prob Dunlop Sport 3ds, 255/35), putting them on my stock rims and then getting new rims next spring for the summer tires, OR
getting a set 18" tires and rims for the winter (Tirerack recommends the Pirelli Sottozero, but I was also looking at the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3s in 245).
My question is do you think the 19s are too big for a New England winter? And if so, if I go with the 18 inchers, would I be best advised to go with 245s or 225s?
Thanks in advance,
Frank
