Default 235/40/17 + AVUS stock rims on S4. Will they rub?

I want to order a set of S-02 PP's, but am concerned that 235/40/17's might rub under hard cornering. Can anyone please confirm that they won't so I can order them! Anyone had any track time with them? We have incredible twisties out here in SF and I race 2.0 liter Formula cars on my spare time so I tend to drive on the spirited side. Anyway, my tires on completely bald on the inside and outside edges and were rolling onto the sidewall even with proper pressure (you can only see the bottom half of the writing on the sidewalls from the wear. I have never had this happen to me in any car, but I'm hoping that the stiffer sidewalls will help.

Default Many have gone to Plus0 235/40/17s on stock Avus w/o problems. Search the S4 Forum for 235/40 ...

There have been numerous threads regarding this upgrade

Default Re: Thoughts on 235/40/17

Rob-

235/40s I have seen others use on the car without any problems other then the OD being a bit short for the car (minimal speedometer error), but the mfrs specs for the tire in that size all recommend a Rim Width Range of 8.00" MINIMUM to 9.50", so on the OEM Avus wheel, it is smaller then recommended, so based on your 'sprited' driving, I would not recommend doing so.

Give me a call to discuss or when ready for the tires!

Regards
Eddie

Default what about my 235/45-17s?

Yeah, I know my 7.5" wheels are a little undersized for 235 width tires (despite that they were sold to me as a package), but what kind of problems am I looking at?

Everything has been great so far.
