I need a snow tire that can also handle long extended dry highway runs without coming apart. What tire is the best compromise?

I put about 13K miles...
...on a set of M2s last winter, on about 95% dry pavement. I'd say they're about half used up, but I'll probably spring for a new set (assuming I go with M2s again) mid-winter this year). They handle quite well on pavement, and the new V-rated M2s will be better. HPH

I just got a discontinued one at low price, Pirelli Winter Ice thing...
it looks the same as W210A but got a Q rated which means for 160km/h
softer compound
and 210A got a H rated, that means harder compound with 210km/h rating..
anyone know the big diff bout those?
