Default Anyone heard of problems when 18" Wheels are installed + it is lowered?

I plan on getting 225/40/18 Wheels + the MTM lowering springs for my car.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Don't think so. I'm looking to do the same, but maybe with wider tires.

Default Depends on the wheel/tire/suspension

The problems that you can get from lowering your car and adding new wheels include:

a: the wheel width - once you start getting to 8 and 8.5" widths, you can easily catch the fender as the tire will start to stick out more.

b: wheel offset - again, offset can affect if you'll hit something

c: spacers/adapters - these affect how your wheel mounts, and you may need one to clear your brake application.

d: tire application - Overall clearance from tires depends on your wheel width too, which affects how flat your tire sits.

e: amount of the drop - affects how close you will come to rubbing.

Good body shops (and bad body shops) can roll your fenders to gain clearance. What you want to avoid is catching your tire on your fender or suspension. Keep in mind that springs will settle too, so that will change your clearance over time. If you're using a troublesome wheel/tire combination, look at coilovers as an alternative to provide more adjustability on ride height.

You may want to do your mods in piecemeal if you're concerned about problems. If you go ahead with springs, install the springs first and let them settle using your stock wheels. After driving around for a month or so, then put your new wheels in.
