from what I hear the LM-22s are probably better in ice/extreme, WinterSport M2s better in dry

In my experience, it's the other way around...LM-22 better in dry, M2 better on ice

You dont go wrong with either one. Botha re pretty similar. Take a look at our testing from when we drove them side by side last year.

Call me to discuss &amp; I can narrow it down for you!<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2Ftests%2Fwinter_perftest _2.jsp">http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/winter_perftest_2.jsp</a></li></ul>

Default Geez, are Raj and I the only two people here who DON'T like the LM22's ?

I won't be putting mine up for sale anytime soon because I have badmouthed these tires so many times that I doubt that anybody would buy them from me.

But when they wear out, I guarantee that I will not be buying another set of them.
(I wanted to replace them THIS season, but my finances dictate that I hang onto them a little longer.)

In a nutshell, they suck in the snow. Barely better than all-season tires. Never tried them on ice, but I would not want to.
In the dry they aren't bad for a snow tire. But considering their snow performance is not much better than "adequate" that I would expect better dry traction from them.

Raj thought that they hydroplane in the wet. I never had that happen, but then again, I seldom drive in the rain.

My next snow tires will probably be Nokian.

I also wonder why nobody ever mentions the Pirelli snow tires. I had the 210A tires on my Acura Integra and I thought they were awesome. Those tires got me through a Vermont blizzard, whereas my LM22s on my A4 have me sliding all over the place even in light snow.
Both tires are 205 width (although the Integra's tires were smaller -- 205/50-15) and the Integra is obviously FWD instead of AWD.
I don't know how the newer Pirelli tires stack up against the LM22, Dunlop M2/M3, Michelin Pilot Alpin, or Nokian NRW/WR. But I sure liked my 210A.

My $0.02,
Peter

Default Tire performance feedback seems pretty subjective.

To contrast with your experience, I run LM-22s on my UrS6 and Pirelli Wintersport 210s on my UrS4, and I can't detect any noticeable difference in snow performance between the two tires even though both sets of tires have about the same mileage.

Default I liked how they performed in the dry, although they wear fast.

Of course, I didn't by them to perform in the dry.....

Default I've had 210A and now the LM22. I liked the pirellis also

awesome tires.
I went through a snow storm without problems with the LM22s last week, (and we get lots of that white stuff up here), so I don't know why yours are so aweful like you say.

I'll have an even better review of snow/ice performance of the LM22s after the upcomming winter rallyes and solos.

regards,
Liam
