buying tires online

Re: Any thoughts on them yet?
I just returned from a 400-mile road trip on winding country roads. Temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Some rain, mostly dry. Very smooth feel. At ~80 mph mileage seemed low, ~24.5 mpg. Also noticed that crossing the bumpy crevices on the centerline, steering was squirrely--had to hold tight to control vehicle. On the way back, my speed varied from 60 to 80 mph, and the mpg increased to as as much as 31.6 mpg.
I'll report again when the snow falls.

Thanks!
I priced them out...same price as the R's I wanted (which is to say $$$$). In 12 hours I make my decision, Dunlop 3D's or the Nok R's. Difference in price amounts to $75/tire which is hard to ignore. I love Nokian, but...I like my money too. I had the original WR's back in 2002. Loved them...matched the high perf winter tires in the slippery stuff, but wore much better and handled better in the dry.
