Check out these Audi Euro-only 17" rims....

I am trying to get these 17" rims that were standard on the '93-'97 S6 Plus. These were never available on any US Audi, and I've wanted a set. Tom Saltino (head of Quattro Club USA Southeast Region) has them on his Ur-S4, and a German student in my Florida club has them on his S4 Plus. He is going to try and get some of his relatives to send a set over for me.
Christian J. Long

Christian,
If that guy's relatives can't help you, check out www.wotanag.de and give Andreas Wolff a call. He has an Audi Parts shop in Germany and can get most anything. The site is still only in German...just click on the Contacts button at the bottom and you can get a phone number or e-mail address.

Re: S4 Plus?
The S4 Plus (1992-1994) and S6 Plus (1995-1997) were just the last generation S4/S6 with the 4.2 V8 in place of the 20v turbo. In the S4+ the engine was rated at 280hp, and well over 300 in the S6+ (forgot the actual number). The cars looked pretty much just like a run of the mill S4/S6 with different wheels, bumpers and suspension.
These were never imported to the USA or Canada, and therefore aren't too well known over here. There is at least 1 in America though, and that guy is in my FL chapter of the Quattro CLub. He is a German Student and brought his S4+ Avant over with him. It is very very tough looking; all black, 17" rims, 6 speed, and very low to the ground. He took it to Roebling Road with the QCUSA in March and proved how fast a station wagon can be.
Christian J. Long

Re: S4 Plus?
Christian,
I see... I thought there were only two production years, '94 and '97... also I wasn't aware of the S4+ 280hp... searched the web and found zero... is it a 32v also? Produced by gmbh or???
I was looking into importing a '97 S6+ avant, but it wouldn't be street legal. Is his legal? If so, I'd love to know how he did it and what it cost!
Please post pictures!
Thanks!
-----

To Christian: Pic of A4 with those wheels

Not sure but these look like the wheel you have posted. The finish seems different though.
Great looking wheel, IMO!

Christian,
Here is info on the wheel in question:
Audi UrS6 (4A0 601 025 M)
17 x 8, ET 40
Ronal, Forged
a.k.a. "Bolero" wheel
Unless somebody has snatched them up, there is one set still available from Audi NA. If not, you can get them through Hoppen. If you want, I can prolly get you another source, too. These are beautiful wheels! I would have purchased them for myself, but they are out of my price range. $475/ea. is the best price I have ever seen.
More photos can be found on my site (see Mark Hunter's car in the gallery) and of course I am sure you are aware of the stunning silver A4 (shod with these wheels, natch) photos in the A4 model guide under press photos on this site.
As a favor, could you pass along the email address of your friend with the S4+? I would like to do an article on his car for my site. You can reach me at jimmy@urs4.com.
Good luck!
Jimmy
