Default Cross-threaded hub bolt-hole

Hi,

I've got a cross-threaded bolt-hole on one of the wheel hubs on my 2012 A6. Can this be repaired at a local shop or does the wheel hub need to be replaced by the dealer? It's not too bad, probably just the first couple threads, but I can't get a lug bolt to go into it.

Thanks.

Brian

I would say no to replacement. I am assuming you started bolt by hand and made sure they were threaded before running them in too far. If it only went in a few turns and bound up you can buy a tap or a Thread chaser. Any Napa or big parts store would be able to help you.
