Curb rash in the car wash
I've had the car for less than a month and this feels awful.
I noticed some sap on my paint yesterday and wanted to get it removed before it causes etching. So I decided to run through the local touchless car wash this morning on the way to work. I haven't had the car long, so I was a little off driving into the guide to start the wash. The wheel caught the guide and was pulled into position, but it definitely didn't feel right. After the wash I stopped in the parking log and noticed the awful scrape on my optional 19" S3 wheels. Nothing very deep, but certainly enough to destroy the clear coat.
Of course there is nobody at the car wash and the phone number is disconnected. I'm just left to pick up the pieces and start getting repair quotes. I'm normally a DIY guy, but I'm concerned about getting the clear coat finish to look right afterward.
Anyway, if anyone has words of encouragement I'd certainly appreciate them.

Thanks, I just got a quote for $135 from a somewhat local shop. I haven't had curb rash repaired before and was expecting a much higher bill. Like you said, its all about quelling that angst.
