Default Eddie--Dunlop M3s--Can you describe these

tires? How are they different from the wintersport M2s. You mentioned a couple of days ago that you have the M3s available in 215/55/16, but i don't see them on the Tirerack website. thanks.

Default Saw a picture of a car with these and got to wondering...

...but they're not on the Dunlop USA site (yet?). However, here's a link to the German page, which you can translate at your leisure, or have Google do it in its own weird way.:

<a href="http://www.dunlop.de/de/data/productnews/index_fr.html">German M3 page</a>.

The "Lieferprogramm" link there has sizes.

The tread looks something like the M2s but maybe more siped. Hard to tell. HPH

yup, Dunlop has not introduced the M3 in the US yet, apart from one or two sizes.

According that German site, the M2 has been around since '93. 'Bout time.

Default yeah, no kiddin'

Dunlop has been witholding the M3 on us here in the US. They figure if they can keep succesfully selling the M2, then why introduce something new.

I suppose winter tire market is more competitive in Europe, so they had to rush to introduce it there.

On the other hand, reading all the great reviews of M2s, it's pretty amazing when you think that it's a 10-year-old design.

I just got a set of the M3s in 18" last week from Tirerack.
Haven't mounted them yet but they look great.

Default If the M2 is doing the job - no reason to change it

It is marketing 101.

Only if you have potential competitors that have a better tire would you need to introduce a newer (better??) tire.

I would not get the M3 till I was able to read some on it.
