Default Help me decide on winter tires... Hankook ipike W409 or Dunlop Winter sport M3

going with the 205/50/17 tire size.

Hankooks and the Dunlops will both be about $540 shipped to my door.

WWAWD?

We've had outstanding results and feedback with the Dunlop Winter Sport M3, but unfortunately we do not carry the other tire so I'm not sure how it would compare, sorry.

winter

Default The iPikes are better in snow and ice, while the Dunlop is better on the dry pavement.

I would, without a single hesitation, go with the w409s over the M3 (or newer 3D).

I would also consider the General Altimax Arctics as well.

Default TJ: Gary, advise please. The 18x8ET35's are some Mille Miglias I bought from you guys about

3 years ago. I understand I may need new hub centering rings, but other than that, I'd like your thoughts.

https://forums.audiworld.com/wheel/msgs/94054.phtml</a

Default Meh...what do you know?

=)
Had beers with Wrinkledpants today. He speaks very highly of you. He also said I remind him of you, although I'm much better looking.

I don't think he's moving again any time soon. He's seen the light. =)

Default M3 are being discontinued. 3D is the replacement.

The 225/45/17 is already out-of-stock and no longer available. Pretty soon the other sizes will be the same way. I found this out the hard way when I had a blowout last spring and could not get a replacement. Called Dunlop customer service and they confirmed this. I had to buy 4 new 3D tires.

I'll need to get the part #s off of the back of the wheels and do some research in order to properly answer this question. For faster reponse, email this info to Gary@Tirerack.com, and a link to this thread, thanks! If you purchased them directly from us, you could try emailing me your complete name and billing telephone number before having to check the wheel part #s (in hopes that I still have this info on file)
