How good are Pirelli P7000 as summers for my 4.2 05 A6? Gary??

Its a pretty old tire design.
The P7000 summer was around when I started at the Tire Rack over ten years ago. It was considered 'okay' at the time, with decent wet traction, but a little loud and stiffer riding than more modern designs.

Tires

Sure, is it 245/45R17 or 245/40R18?
Also, the summer tires will be harsher riding, shorter life but better handling and dry grip versus an all season option. Given that, are you still looking for summer-only?

it'll be 245/50/18...no need for the tire to be summer only...just saying that...
because I already have dedicated winters. all seasons for summer would be fine as i will not be pushing this car at all.

Go it.
I'll assume you meant 245/40R18 (as apposed to 50 series which would be too tall). For smoother and quieter riding tires with longer wear we would suggest the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity, Kumho ECSTA LX Platium, and Yokohama Avid W4S.

Tires
