Default I did - for the following reasons:

1. I was not sure if the wheel would not be manufactured in the future (I was not familar with the MAS brand last year.)
2. If I busted a wheel on a vacation - I did not want to wait a week at a Motel 6 in Kansas (or other exciting states) for a new wheel to arrive so I could continue my journey.
3. I also did not want to be stuck on the spacesaver tire out in the boonies.

The issue on direction is valid - but driving at 55mph to the nearest tire place can take care of getting the tire reversed if necessary. I just like full sized wheels and tires.

Default I carry a wheel from my second set as a spare

Right now my spare is a winter tire. In the winter, my spare is a summer tire. So I have a fullsize spare year-round. Any fullsize spare beats a donut spare in my book.<p><b>Drew S.</b> <a href="http://members.aol.com/drewinva/audi/" target="drewinva"><img src="http://members.aol.com/drewinva/images/98.5.jpg" border="0" align=center></a> <b>98.5 A4 2.8 qm</b>

Default can't you temporarily run the tire in the opposite direction till u find a tire shop?

i thought the only concern was for the tire wear...might be mistaken tho.
