Default How much $$$$ to ship wheels?

Anybody have a general idea how much it would cost to ship a set of 18" wheels with tires UPS ground? I guestimate they weigh around 30-35lbs each.

Thanks

Default 30-35lbs?

Most wheel and tire combo's weigh about 40-50lbs.

Are you going to box them?

It depends where you are and where you are shipping it to.

Try Fedex ground. They seem to be a better company then UPS in my mind.

I just bought bought new wheels. It cost me $120 for four wheels/tires shipped to my door.

Default What 18" tire/wheel package weighs 35lbs?!?!

That's crazy light! ;-) You're looking at more like 50lbs, unless it's a really lightweight wheel.

At any rate, I shipped some heavy 17" wheels/tires (~48lbs wheel w/tire) from TN to OR for about $30 each. $120 total via FedEx ground. I find UPS tends to be bit higher. Good luck

Just a guess from what they feel like to me, but I doubt if they are over 40lbs. They are Blitz forged racing wheels, and are less than 20lbs without the tires on them. Thanks for the feedback everyone, now I have an idea of what to expect.

try an archive search for threads on shipping your own wheels. UPS.com will also let you calculate it by zip with your weight & dimensions.

You want to properly wrap the tires and rims. don't ship them like this.

^ That is absolutely correct, please ship them properly using shrinkwrap, cardboard, foam/bubble wrap...its all very cheap. and last time i shipped this way i did not have to use boxes. came out to around 120.

Shipping should be around $100-130 for 18" wheels only. Here's a great diagram from Tirerack on how to package up your wheels properly.
