Default Offset Question - Allroad

Looking at buying a set of OE S4 rims. They come with a 45mm offset. First off is that going to require too large a spacer for safety/performance purposes and secondly any idea on size lugs I would need? I called HR and they said to go with DRA but want to make sure that is no going to cause vibration problems, etc...

Thanks

Default I would tend to say okay, but up to you

Your allroad by definition already has a big offset as I recall (numerically low). Something like 20mm. Caused by the add on plastic flares and then shifting wheel way out visually. As I recall the std. C5 offset is something like 45mm, the S6/4.2 is 35mm (with the flares permitting it, and the allroad is around 20 if I have that right. Along the way that implies Audi decided that offset would still fly as far as wheel bearing loading and the like.

H&R's are high quality so I wouldn't expect you will have vibration or other mismatch issues.

DRA's bolt to your hub, so you use the STOCK lug bolts to in turn bolt to the spacer--one of the things that makes the DRA's a nice set up if you like stock bolt up. If I have the allroad offset right, I would guess you are looking at either the 25mm (per side) spacer to keep it at about stock offset, or 30mm to push it out more.

By the way, not sure which S4 you mean, but if you are talking about the old 2.7T S4, why not buy C5 S6 wheels (the same six spoke ones)? That gets you to a 35mm offset too.
