One last time: Did anyone fit 235/45/17 AVS Sports on stock avus S4 rims w/o problems?

But Dunlop SP5000's work??? I'm asking, because I'm thinking of getting them soon.
If so, why do some 235/45/17's work and others don't?? I'm confused??<p>John

there is a lot of difference in the shoulder area on the tires, I believe that any 234/45 on a stock AVUS wheel will be very tight, on any aftermarket they will be fine. 235/40 will work fine on the AVUS although an 8 inch wide rather then a 7.5 inch wide (AVUSis 7.5) would be better. They rub on the rear upper control arm and the shoulder area of the tire is what makes contact

So let me get this straight, the SP5000 235/45/17 will work on an after market wheel, like a Ronal LZ 8 inch wide. But will rub if placed on the stock AVUS wheel.
Is this correct?

Good advice there. A 235/45 you may be okay (it is VERY close) on OEM wheels, but there really is no way to be 100% sure for the OEM wheel (which is kinda narrow). My advice is to use 225/45 on OEm wheels unless you are will in to guinea pig to be sure, and take the chance that they may or may no t fit.
When using aftermarket wheels, they typically:
A) run wider 8-8.5"w.
B) use a 35 mm offset, pushing them a bit further out for increased clearances.
Bear this in mind, call me with any addtl. questions!
Thanks!
