Please, help me decide for tires
Hello,
I need to buy new tires for my A4 3.0Q sport. I live in the DC area where we sometimes get snow. I will not have dedicated winter tires.
I am currently hesitating between the following tires:
1) Dunlop SP Sport 9090 - max performance summer -235/45-17
(Original equipment on my car). I had these tires for 2 years and have been very happy with them and did not seem to have any pb even with snow (but I have nothing to compare to).
2)Continental ContiExtremeContact - Ultra High Perf All-Season - 235/45-17
3)Pirelli PZero Nero M&S - Ultra High Performance All-Season - 235/45-17
What would you recommend and why?
Thanks,
Tarmac.

Not the Dunlops.
Even if you didn't have problems with snow on these tires before, driving in snow on summer tires is a recipe for disaster. It's only a matter of time before your number comes up if you do this.
I haven't driven the other two so I can't comment on them, but for yourself, your passengers, and the sake of the people around you, don't drive summer tires in the snow.

Re: Please, help me decide for tires
I'd for for the Pzero Nero M+S since it will be closer in performance <cornering, responsiveness> to the tire you have now, while improving on the winter capabilites.
The Conti should do better in snow, but is a bit less responsive in hanlding/cornering.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>
