I purchased SP5000's from Tire Rack about 6K miles ago for my '97 A4Q and until lately I've been very satisfied with them. However, in the last thousand miles or so they've developed a very annoying road noise (a low frequency hum). Is this common? or are they defective? Should I get my hearing checked?

Is there any unusual wear on tread edges? Noise hasnt been a compaint I have heard at all from that tire.

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Could I be mistaking a mechanical problem (e.g., differential) for tire noise? Otherwise, is there warranty or other recourse? Or am I stuck with them?
