I'm looking for wheels to fit an Audi S6 (C7) and it seems like spacers might solve some clearance problems. But I'm not entirely sure what that involves.

Do spacers use stock lug nuts?

Do they bolt to the hubs and then the wheels bolt to them?

Does it depend on the spacer thickness?

Will it affect the suspension to any degree?

Reduce strength?

Are all spacers created equal, or should some be avoided or are preferred?
