Is there gonna be any more serious snow in New England/Quebec?
After some awesome fun in the snow & ice in January, I've been driving on dry or wet for the past month. There haven't been any serious snow storms for about a month, and it kind of stinks pointlessly wearing out my Hakka 1's in the event that it will remain like this for the rest of February/march. I'm itching to buy a summer tire/wheel package, I don't know when;'s the best time to pull the trigger
GusS

Gus,
Hold off on the summer tires (I know it's painful, I'm doing the same thing) until those spring storms pass. My Hak 1's have seen over 27k miles already, and I plan to use them again next year. They won't start wearing quickly until the temps are consistently above 50 degrees or so.
Rich
'98 2.8Q sport

Heh, my Hak's have seen about 4,500 km / 1.609 = you do the math miles. :)
27k miles in how many winters? You sure are getting the most out of your quattro equipped vehicle.
Question: Do you ever find yourself looking at the tread pattern on other cars' tires to see if you can spot other Nokians? How lame is that?
(Spotted them on a B5 Passat & on a Corolla I believe.)
GusS

That would be 27k in 2 winters on the Hak 1's..and I'm leaving Friday to drive from Portland, OR to northern Michigan.. I love this car!
And yes, I'm glad I'm not the only one who regualarly inspects tire treads..
Rich, quattro posterchild
'98 2.8Qsport, 56k miles and counting***
