I am going to be purchasing an Australian spec A4 1.8Tqms (the only items left on the options list are xenon, SIDEGUARD, BOSE, sunroof, bigger wheels, wood) and will acquire some aftermarket 17" wheels to fit. At this stage I'm thinking of getting TSW Imola wheels fitted with either Pirelli P6000, P7000, or Falken 225/45s.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations regarding any of the above types or any other tyre. I have had P6000s on my Peugeot 306GTi-6 (found them much better than Michelin MXV3s), so have a point of reference if I somehow try out the others. From the P6000 experience, I'm curious about the P7000s, but they are 35% more expensive than the Falkens....

If $ is an issue the Falkens are great. I had them on my car, but switched to Bridgestone RE 71's last week due to the sale at the tire rack. I assume your talking about the Falken GRB's and not the Ziex?? Between the GRB and RE 71's I'd lean a little more tho the Re 71's, but based on their wear rating I don't think they'll last as long. I have talked with other folks that liked the Grb's more than the Dunlop sp8000's in terms of performkance and wear. Sorry, I haven't run P6000 or 7000's. Best of luck.<p>Rob Carnochan
