Default vibration at high speed, please advise...

i just got a brand new set of 18" wheels/tires put on my 1 year old car. when i got up to highway speed, i began to notice vibration through the steering wheel. the vibration then went away and came back again for a brief moment. there is no vibration at lower speed and i haven't experienced any pull. prior to putting on the new wheels/tires, the car had no vibration whatsoever at all speeds.
all 4 wheels have hubcentric rings. does it sound like the wheels might not have been balanced properly and need to be re-balanced by a hunter GSP9700? any thoughts? TIA

Default The areas could be:

1. bent wheel
2. out of round tire
3. poor balance
4. weights that fell off

Check to see if any tire has lots of weights on it. If so. they can remove the weights and rotate the tire 180° and re balance.

Default 1. unlikely since they're brand new but possible. 2. possible and if so defective tire and would

be replaced by the vendor i suppose. 3. possible and having them re-balanced with hunter gsp9700 should fix that hopefully. 4. possible and same as no.3

i will check the taped weights on the wheels...thanks!

by the way, is it possible that the new tires are going through some kind of "break in"?

no - tires will not cause vibration as they wear-in unless something is wrong
