what's the consensus on the dunlop sp winter sport 3d? price, performance, etc. vs. other tires...
what's your favorite winter tire?
is it cheaper to buy winter tires in spring/summer or is that just a myth?

Haven't heard one bad word about them.
But I went with blizzak lm25s and love them. Awesome in the snow, drivable on ice and ride like a good all-season on dry pavement. Amazing all-around winter tire. I imagine that they're extremely similar to the dunlops.

Great traction - they were great on the A4 and when I got the RS
I was unsure how they would work with all the torque the V8 delivers. But unless I deliberately tried to break the tires loose they gave great traction on ice (which I consider the worst case for me - as one never knows when one will run into ice whereas snow traction is a given.)
