I will purchase a 2001 A4 1.8T sometime in December and I have been thinking about rims and tires already. I know I have gone a bit overboard since the car probably won't be here until several months, but I simply can't stop thinking about mods that I will do to the car.

Anyway, the current 2000 A4 1.8T comes with 205/60/15 tires. Assuming the set up applies to the 2001 model, I am thinking of putting 17" BBS RC's on the car and need someone to help me in choosing the right tire size. I know that if I choose 225/45/17, then the overall diameter of the wheel will be larger than stock. If I go with 215/45/17, then the overall diameter would be slightly less than stock. So which tire size should I go for? It's so hard to find a tire size that will match very closely to stock overall diameter. I was told it is less favorable to choose tire size that yields smaller overall diameter because you can gain more milages than you actually drove on the odometer. If I were to choose 225/45/17, how off will my speedo be? Thanks
