We just bought an A8 with the optional 17" tires (225/55 R17) and want to buy winter tires and rims. I was thinking of Michelin Artic Alpins, which only come in 16". Discount tires tells me the only option for 17" rims is Pirellis. If I go with 16" Michelins, will this affect the speedometer reading/ navigation system? We live in Seattle area, (wet!) and will be driving to ski areas with snow and ice. My ultimate concern is safety. Any recommendations appreciated.
