Winter Wheels & Tires
I'm sure this subject has come across before, but please help me out. I'm gettin a new A4 with sports pack. I know I need to change my tires for the winter. I need a good deal on wheels and tires so I have it ready come November. Brand of wheels and tires along with size and est. price would be helpful.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Where are you located...
... I may have a set for sale for a good deal. I've got the Audi winter wheel package.
Audi Winter wheel package usually consists of 15" steel wheel with full wheel cover and some brand of H rated 195/65R15 snow tire Pilot Alpin, or Conti Contacts.

To be honest, I never swapped out my wheels and tires in winter with my past A4; it came with all
season tires, and was fine, even in deep snow. However, my S4 has strictly summer rubber, so I swap them out. You may want to wait and see what the car is like with Quattro and all season tires. You will slide around, but nothing that will require winter rubber. Which tires are you getting if you know??

I highly recommend one of two tires:
1) Nokian NRW
2) Dunlop Wintersport M2 or M3
These are H rated winter tires. They do well in the snow, without sacrificing as much on the dry as a Q rated tire usually does. I went with the Nokian NRWs, and I have NEVER looked back.
I just got 15" steel wheels and $20 for a set of 4 wheel covers. I didn't want to put much $$ into my winter wheels. I got the Nokian NRWs from a local shop who was able to get me a pretty good price.
Good luck... don't try driving sport tires on the snow. Winter wheels/tires is much cheaper than replacing your front end. Quattro will get you going, but it's lack of stopping and turning ability that will wreck your car.
