Audi Q5/Q7: How to Replace Rear Windshield Wiper Arm

The windshield wipers, front and rear, are designed to be replaced every season or two in the Audi Q5 or Q7. However, the wiper arm isn't supposed to be replaced. If your rear wiper arm broke, maybe from an unknown reason, or due to a snow storm, replacing it is an important safety step. This guide will go over how to remove your old, broken rear wiper arm, and install a new one in its place. Read on to learn the procedure.

Audi Q5/Q7: How to Replace Rear Windshield Wiper Arm

Materials Needed

  • 13mm socket
  • New wiper arm

Step 1 – Remove plastic cover

Pull off the plastic cover on the base of the arm, where it connects to the car. You can do that by hand.

Step 2 – Remove arm's nut

The wiper's arm is held in place by a 13mm nut. Use your 13mm socket to remove the nut.

Step 3 – Remove wiper arm

Pull the wiper arm off. You may need to wiggle it a bit, so extend the arm, then gently wiggle it until it comes loose.

Step 4 – Install new arm

Install the new arm in place, then tighten the 13mm nut. Place the plastic piece over the nut, and click it into place.
