2019 Audi Q8: Get to Know the New Breed of Luxury SUV

Turbocharged V6
The Q8 is Audi's latest flagship model in its Q lineup. It comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that churns up to 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. All the power is channeled to all four wheels through a swift and responsive 8-speed automatic transmission. Audi claims that the car can get from 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Within the drivetrain is a lithium-ion battery that allows for regenerative braking and long coasting phases when the engine is deactivated. Audi also says that a diesel-powered TDI will be launched later in the year.

Great Off-Road Capability
Audi has equipped the Q8 with hill descent control and standard quattro all-wheel-drive that offer great off-road performance. Maximum ground height stands at 10 inches. Buyers have the option of including an air suspension system that allows them to adjust the riding height by up to 3.5 inches. There's also an optional and automated all-wheel steering that turns the rear wheels by up to 5 degrees. This enhances stability at high speeds and increases agility at low speeds.

Lots of Tech
The interior is mind-blowing. Thanks to a minimalist dashboard, the new MMI display blends well with the rest of the cabin when the engine is switched off. There are two displays: an upper 10.1-inch infotainment and navigation system, and a lower 8.6-inch display for text input, multiple convenient functions, and climate control. The Q8 has one of the most impressive cockpits available today.

Audi offers 12 color options for the new Q8. Options include 10 pearl/metallic shades and 2 solid paint finishes. For those that love standing out from the crowd, the "Dragon Orange" is exclusively available for the Q8. No Drama
Audi has made sure that managing your hefty Q8 is as easy as possible. There's a 360-degree surround-view camera system that allows you to park the Q8 flawlessly in tight environments. An optional package adds Night Vision Assist to make night driving less hectic. The infrared cameras are able to spot pedestrians and wild animals from afar. You will be notified through a yellow frame that appears on the virtual cockpit.

Lots of Customization Options
There are three S line packages available for the Q8. The first is the S Line Black Package that adds black roof rails, adaptive air suspension, an S line exterior, black exterior mirrors, 22-inch wheels, and red brake calipers. The S Line Platinum Package adds a platinum grey single-frame mask, premium audio, top view camera, audio phone box with wireless charging, and 4-zone climate control. Lastly, the S Line Sports Interior Package adds 4-way lumbar front seat support, matte-brushed aluminum decorative inserts, stainless steel footrest and pedals, an exterior S line logo, stainless steel load edge protection, black headlining, scuff plates with logo and aluminum inserts, and front sport seats.
