Help please My Audi 1.8T 2001 is failing to start rather a key is blinking on the dash board.What should i do ?

hi I had my dash done and I belive that the ecu is not excepting key input have you tried to disconnect battery then reconnect put key back in but do not start leave on for 15 mins imm light will flash on dash wait till it stops then start car its worth a try kevin worked on my audi tt hope it helps
