Moonroof squek and Keyless Entry Flop (long)
Well I bought a new A4 yesterday (new to me) 1997 A4 2.8 Quattro 5 speed and I love it of course. I've been enamered with the A4 since this last fall here and have been reading this forum ever since. I figured if I couldn't own one I could at least read and find out why a may not want one. HA that didn't work, just made me want an A4 more.
Well anyway, I have two current problems with it already. Yes I know I bought it from a non-dealer though so play along here. THE MOONROOF when I switch it to tilt opens, but with a sqreeeeeeeech (low sounding) and when I close it from being fully slide back, before it comes completely up into place it then P O P S !!
Next the KEYLESS ENTRY system doesn't work at all. The door locks lock and the convience feature with the key all completely work, but the little module doesn't work. I changed out the batteries and no dice. I was reading in the manual last night and it said it may have to be reprogrammed after losing power or something along those lines. Does anyone know how to do this. I'm mechanically inclined, but not to the point where I can go changing clutches or anything drastic.
Well I've seen so many other's get help can Audiworld's A4 forum save the day again. Tune in next week and we'll find out. Appreciate the help and thanks in advance.

Re: Reprogramming the remote....
I think this info from the FAQ might be what you need.<p>Andy Hedin

Keyless entry fix
I don't know about the moonroof but there is an FAQ about reprogramming the keyless entry system. Go to F.A.Q - then Misc. then it's called Keyless Entry I or something like that. I have never done this procedure but I would assume that it works. Good luck - I just got a 97 1.8T and I love it as well - even though it's currently in the shop for a hopefully small problem. Chris

It didn't work?? :(
Is there anything else it could be. Like I said before I just bought it yesterday, so I know nothing about how or why it has stopped working. Anyone else have a solution is there a fuse or something out... Where is the actual reciever located at? Thanks
