'headlight on' quit working...how ?

On a 2006 A4 how could the headlight chime that worked before suddenly stop ? Ran the battery down the other night cause I did not realize I had left the lights on.

Might have burned out the little speaker in the instrument cluster. Does it make any noises or chimes anymore?

Possibly an issue with the drivers door lock assembly, as the lock tells the dash when the door is open. Does the dash register when a door is open?
