MMI phone question
I have an old non-smart phone that I would like to keep for a while (don’t ask why). With my 2013 A6 when I received an incoming call from a number in the MMI phone directory it would show the caller’s name so I could decide whether to answer. With my 2016 A6 I was able to connect to the MMI with bluetooth and all my numbers/names are in the directory. They work normally if I am dialing out; however, when I get an incoming call from a number in the directory I just see the number, not the name. Anyone know what I can do to show the incoming call’s name short of getting a new compatible phone? Thanks

My 2016 shows the name. I had that happen on a previous car and the answer was that the call came in before the directory finished loading. Make sure the contacts are showing up on the screen then have one of them call you.

It must have been a one-time glitch. I have since gotten 2 other calls (I am not very popular) and both times the name and number showed up. The call that did not show the name was in the directory. Maybe allowing the directory update the last time I was in the car did the trick.

I've been married to the same gal for 39 years, She doesn't care what I drive or what kind of phone I have. And I have no idea how any of this this relates to your directory ID question.
